A Note From the Fry Family

Precious Friends,

It is with both a profound sense of sadness yet a strong note of confident assurance in the Lord that we share with you all that our dad, Gerry, went to be with Jesus this past Wednesday morning.

This was not unexpected, but his passing did come very suddenly. Even the night before, he was able to whisper "I love you" to our mom.

While we celebrate his home-going, we who are here deeply mourn and grieve. But the grieving is laced with the tender joy that comes not only from God’s abundant comfort, but also from the fact that our dad was a giant of a man.

There are many thousands of people scattered all over the world who have been deeply impacted by his ministry. The legacy he has left his children and grandchildren is a treasure trove of wisdom and insight. But even more so, the example he set for us of a man who, all his life, was deeply committed to glorifying Christ in absolutely everything.

In the days ahead, we will be able to write something more substantial, as well as communicate to all of you plans for memorializing Dad in the ways that would celebrate his legacy.

For now, we would just ask for your prayers for Mom. Sixty-eight years of married life, 68 years of amazing ministry partnership. Perhaps the most amazing ministry partnership we have ever known. We would appreciate your prayers for Mom as she continues the mission of Mount Hermon Ministries and Dad’s vision and passion for strengthening the local church and supporting its leadership around the world.

We so appreciate your kind offerings of condolence to Mom as we remember Dad’s life. Because his memorial service will not be taking place immediately, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones please consider making a donation to Mount Hermon Ministries. The mailing address for Mount Hermon is:

And please pray for the rest of our family. Because Dad was such a pillar of strength to all of us for all these many years, this loss is all the more painful. Still, we know the deeper undercurrent of peace that passes all understanding.

For those of you who knew Dad, would you just take a couple of minutes somewhere during your day and offer thanksgiving to God for the way that he touched your life?

We will update you as we are able. Again, our entire family loves and cherishes you all!

Blessings to you.
